A passion with origins in the past.

As a child, Giacomo Zanellati loved to create imaginative uniforms from scraps of leather for his entire legions of toy soldiers, giving rise to an outlet for an innate creativity.
And it was from there that Giacomo, second generation in the art of leather work, started with MA.GI srl, a family business founded in the ‘70s and based in Ravenna.

What began as a game was transformed into the creation of leather garments for himself and soon, and in a completely natural way, became the subject of the future business with the establishment in 1998 of the brand SWORD 6.6.44.

The name carries with it a playful and dreamlike implicit reference to the Normandy invasion aimed at referring to the “landing” of the young designer in the fashion world.
A very precise identity and philosophy: every garment made has a soul and the personal and expressive element reveals, through the art of manufacturing, the different moments in life.
Know-how together with the creative instinct results in ongoing research in natural materials and premium finishes. The perfect fit and linear design have, as a distinctive element, irreverent notes played on details with rock attitude and recognizable enough to become a true state of mind.

Spirited garments with different multiple washes and a wide range of colours from neutral tones to brighter shades, recall the creativity of those two children that played and represented their dreams and fantasies in a rainbow of colours.

From the style to the spirit of 2014 the aesthetics of SWORD 6.6.44 also represent a social commitment and are realized in collaboration with Venenta, the Italian Cooperative that supports women, on their own or with children, with hardships and difficulties.
A selection of garments produced by SWORD 6.6.44 is hand painted and customized by mothers of the Community, sometimes inspired by drawings made by their children.
